Your Road to Recovery
Working with a medical doctor as well as an individual therapist, you’ll be able to face your addiction head-on and overcome any associated underlying diagnosis. The first step in breaking the addiction cycle is our Induction Process, which will switch you from your current opioid to Suboxone or Subutex. You’ll need to provide a urine sample and arrive at your appointment experiencing mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms. Your doctor will then prescribe Suboxone or Subutex and arrange for monitoring your reaction to the initial dose during the induction process. Our treatment will then follow these steps:
1. Stabilization
The induction process will establish the appropriate dose of Suboxone or Subutex needed to stabilize your withdrawal symptoms. The induction determines your appropriate dose by evaluating the amount of buprenorphine required to saturate all the affected neurons in your brain. You’ll then stay at this dose for the entire stabilization period which usually lasts between 60 and 100 days.
2. Maintenance
During this period, your treatment compliance and progress will be monitored. As required by Federal Guidelines, you’ll also participate in behavioral counseling to help treat the root causes of your addition. You’ll continue to receive your prescription for Suboxone or Subutex during these check-in appointments. The maintenance phase can be as short as a few weeks to as many as several years, and will be determined by you, your doctor, and your counselor.
3. Medically Supervised Withdrawal
During your treatment plan, you and your doctor may decide that medically supervised withdrawal is the best option for you. In this process, your doctor tapers your Suboxone dose gradually, ensuring that you do not experience any withdrawal symptoms or cravings. Some patients reduce to a small dose and can go no further without experiencing withdrawal symptoms or breakthrough pain. In those cases, monthly aftercare or maintenance contracts are available.
